There are about 3.1 million public school teachers in the US. Even if every single incident was by a different teacher, that means about 0.9% of public school teachers are sexual predators. Compare that to estimates of priests who are sexual predators, which is closer to 4.4%

If you know what context is, then pay attention to the graph.

This is annual cases of child sexual abuse on average. Not a collective amount of priests and teachers who have been accused of sexual abuse from 1950-2002.

Just because they both have the words “priest” and “sexual abuse” in them doesn’t mean they’re talking about the same thing.
