In Oregon every time you have business in a government office you are asked if you are registered to vote (your first visit) & there are registration cards on display. Also anyone who gets or renews a driving license is automatically registered.

In Ohio you are not registered for jury duty UNLESS you are a registered voter. Jury pools are developed directly from registered voters.

Actually, in most states, they get the jury list from the voting rolls since you have to be a citizen to serve on a jury.

In Calif. over 400,000 people who were asked to serve on a jury tried to get out of it by saying they could not serve because they were not citizens.

Why can't people register to vote?

That point is that the state can handle registering everyone to vote automatically. They do it for jury duty, no one signs up for that. No one registers for that.

If they can handle that database, they can handle automatically signing everyone.

Jury duty comes off the registered voters list.
If someone can get a driver's license, registering to vote should be pretty easy
