Never said I'd served. My distrust of authority wouldn't have mixed well with military life. According to government rules if powder, shot, and ignition are separate steps it's not a firearm. Thus black powder weapons being unregulated.

Oh, ok. Fair enough. Well, a firearm is something that could be portable when carried by a person. A fixed gun of the calibre described in the meme is easily classes as an artillery gun.

Just about every language and government recognizes this difference, not just the ATF.
