You’ve, obviously, never been to a liberal music festival like the Grateful Dead or Phish where the stench of BO is stronger than a fish market. It’s not bragging. We were on a FOB in Afghanistan getting pounded by the Taliban for over a month straight and had no running water. The one water bladder we had got blown up and resupplying us with a new one was the last thing on command’s mind. All of us went 53 days without a shower. Not by choice; by circumstance. When we finally got back within the wire, we were glad to get a decent SSSS.

I tend to not give credence to what most folks say, including some here who have claimed to have been soldiers (because on occasion some have turned out to not be).
