Who says? The Marine Corps is indeed older than the Navy, but that does not negate its current legal standing. It is a subdivision of the Department of the Navy. In that same respect, the Space Force is simply a subdivision of the Department of the Air Force. There is really nothing wrong with this decision. The only reason you are complaining is because it was Trump that made the decision, and Orange Man Bad!
So? How do you know that's not how the army felt when the Air Force was separated from them in 1947? Also, literally every Branch thinks they're the best branch and that they do the best job. The Marines think that. The Navy thinks that. The army thinks that. The Air Force thinks that. The Coast Guard thinks that. There are probably a lot of people in every branch that think their branch could do a certain job better than another. On that same note, the Marines have planes. The Navy has planes the army even has planes. Does that mean we should get rid of the air force? No, of course not. As I said before, just because their areas of expertise are very similar, doesn't mean they are exactly the same.
That's Trump's decision. He wanted to put in an alabama. I don't know why, but that's what he chose personally I would have put it in Florida or Puerto Rico, somewhere close to the equator.
"as you feel it was needed"
Mhmmm. Says the one who started the conversation.
