Don't lend what you know they can't pay back. The labs sound have been refused by the lenders.

If they are teachers maybe if they serve in the military definitely….otherwise it’s their debit and their bad decisions….time to put on their big boy pants and fulfill their obligations.

The average student loan is only 30k financed 15 years is not a overwhelming burden. If you went to Oberlin borrowed 125k and majored in women’s studies you deserve the fate you created for yourself. Better to spend the 125k on community college trade school tuition grants.

Colonel, $30,000 hasn't been enough to finance a 4-year degree in quite some time. How old ARE you exactly? I mean, we're talking the 90's at the latest.

Google it Spanky!

Well spanky it’s represents the amount borrowed it does not include pell grants, state scholarship money, field of study scholarship money, parental contributions, student contributions , state lottery proceeds, corporate scholarships or alumni scholarship funds. My son for example got 20k because of his field of study….geological engineering.

i take your last comment as a surrender flag,"DIDN'T have parents with a Scrooge McDuck bank vault with $20k spare cash..." in most cases if they are too stupid to maintain a 3.0 or qualify for any of the hundred hundreds of state scholarships they should probably invest in junior college first or a trade school before they borrow college tuition for a major that will not support them or benefit society.

OK. So back to the problem at hand, namely the students who DIDN'T have parents with a Scrooge McDuck bank vault with $20k spare cash...

You mean like those who major in things like “women’s studies”, Humanities, Poetry, & Education?

Exactly. Pay for your own college education.
Don't
Expect
Me

If it were a "useful" degree, then they can pay back the loans with all the money they make with their "useful" degrees.
Thanks for playing.

Yes. You have.
But, as usual, you are wrong, as usual.
Again, I expect no more from you, as usual.
We've already established that you don'[t understand PLAIN ENGLISH.
And, again, what I expect is for them or their parents to pay for their education. Keep your grubby, Commie hands out of my pockets

I already got that, the professions should be reserved only for the already wealthy and you don't consider any profession to be of service to the country. What are you trying to add? Why do you keep coming back to this conversation if we've already got the point you're trying to make?

Because you keep getting my position totally wrong.

We tried free education for Doctors….they reneged on the service side of the agreement and stole the money

Oh no, now they'll take their university-trained medical knowledge to other fields. Whatever will we do?
1 up, 4y,
1 reply
No they refuse to honor the contractual commitments they were given the scholarships for and give the finger to the communities they we’re supposed to help.

..........you... you don't... legally get to require that your scholarship students have to work at a certain job. Quite apart from anything else, the job market quite notoriously doesn't operate by worker's choice. Basically, you're forcing graduates to be unemployed unless they happen to get the job offer that YOU approve of. That's quite ridiculous.

The money was for them to get university training in medicine because that's something that's always of benefit to the country. If they go into engineering, we get bioengineering advances. If they go into banking, we get financial services for the medical industry. There's really no down side to it at all and if anything that's the kind of thing we need in ALL fields, not just medicine.

They were granted full scholarships to medical school in return for a period of service in the military, on a Indian reservation or a rural community. They reneged on the deal because they are scum buckets.

no they became rich doctors and never repaid the education loans and were never sued by the goverment.
1 up, 4y
its simple Spanky, they agreed to 5 years of service to under served communities in return to their tuition and then refused to perform the service.

....sssssssssssssooooo... they DID get into the medical service? People have been medically treated by these doctors whose education we paid for?

OK, I don't understand your complaint at all, but then, I don't think you do either.

I know what you mean. Every time a businessman files for bankruptcy and gets all of those millions of debts forgiven at the stroke of a gavel, I'm just like.... Why is this MY fault?

...education is literally in an investment in yourself to increase your income years down the line. And it has a potential to fail. What's the difference?
