There is no other rational explanation. Democrats in power are maniacal sociopaths, and the people that vote for them hoping that they will take care of them are fools.

Fresh veggies is grown in greenhouses, fruit in groves, and most crop farmers growing corn and soybeans is for animal feed. Check your food package to see the grown in label. Has nothing to do with Russia. Plus America is the number one fertilizer producer in the world... Using megatons drenching and tainting the water supply... So wtf is really going on?

I got it, what happened is stupid farmers applied to much fertilizer, weed killers and pesticide that the soil is dead and won't produce high yield, that or the expense of farming is to great, and only rich people can afford farming... Who really knows.

Or farmers irrigated the water table so much that theirs nothing left underground... And a drought is not replenishing ground water fast enough.

It takes time for food to grow. Defence production would work to build greenhouses, but nothing can speed up mother natures finest necessity, and bees are in short supply, so manual pollination will cause a labor demand. Nobody wants to be a plant fu$7er.

Interesting insight- thank you!

Let's not forget that the US Government continues to pay farmers to not farm their land, and in many instances, they pay them to till their crops into the ground. How much of that is taking place currently, I do not know, but we have more than enough good soil to work with.

I agree with your question- what is really going on?

With soil erosion taking over it's a problem. As far as farm subsidies go, the government is incentives farmers to grow specific cash crops. And for the facts of government paying farmers for leased acres in crp that's because of soil erosion and water quality factors. Sometimes when a farmer spends 10 years making a loss, turning it back to grass pays more than owing taxes and greater debt. Companies have coxed farmers into chemical contracts and seed contracts making it hard to have a real say. It's very complexed.
