Glam, I worked in HSE for about 35 years, got extensive training in what different masks will and will not protect you from. I was serious when I said put on your favorite mask and go sand sheetrock, wood, any large particle material that causes dust. You'll be shocked at what gets past the masks that are said to stop a virus so small you can only see it with an electron microscope. Fauci rightly said at the beginning of covid that masks aren't effective for stopping the spread, then went so far as to say wearing two improperly fitted masks was necessary. COVID is smaller than smoke particles, and there are a lot of videos showing people blowing smoke through masks. There were a significant number of studies and articles regarding the lack of efficacy of masks, but everyone was buried as "false news" or whatever the term was, bottom line no one was getting the truth.
Regarding any virus, your best protection is always washing with soap and water. That breaks down the protein, lipid and carbohydrates of the capsid and envelope layers that encase the genetic material of the virus.
MIT did a study where they concluded that social distancing had no impact on the spread of the virus, concluding it didn't matter if people stayed 2 feet or 200 feet from each other. They found that like most viruses, covid was more common in the lowest 1 foot of a room than at ceiling level. That was another truthful study that got silenced.
The proper mask would essentially have to fit like a gas mask and use multiple layer carbon filters. All facial hair would have to be removed where the mask fit to the skin. Then there is a proper protocol for removing the mask to prevent contamination. The use of gloves disappeared from what people were told to do very quickly because people weren't trained on how to properly remove those to prevent cross contamination. To be effective, people would have to change gloves 30 to 40 times a day, properly. When people fidgeted with masks they were actually increasing their potential exposure to the virus by touching their faces more than they would without a mask. Truth is we were never at this level requiring laboratory protocols. I could go on, but I won't be surprised when you reject all of this. Propaganda always crushes science.
