You really believe Russia won't survive being isolated from the NATO world? I bet you can't imagine what a country that produces it's own energy would be like. FYI- We had a country like that until your pedo Joe screwed it all up.

Your comments reveal how little you know about the history of Russia from the Soviet Union Days, forward. Russia today relies on energy production for about 40% of all income. Their state-owned businesses are as inefficient as they ever were. In the old days, the Soviet Union would syphon off profits from countries where money was being made, like Poland and East Germany. Their membership in NATO pts them off limits. Ukraine was ripe for plucking.

The disruption of Russian oil money should not be a long-term goal. Putin knows that he cannot maintain control without the support of the people. That is why all free news media have been shut down and only State propaganda that does not mention "war," is being reported. The Russian people would not condone what he is doing. If their economy goes into the "crapper," he will lose them.

We did not have a totally energy independent country, as you falsely assert. It had improved greatly under Obama. But, we still imported oil, etc. In fact, the Venezuelan oil that Trump barred in 2019 and replaced with Russian oil amounts to 7% of our needs. We have the capacity to produce all the oil and gas we need and still be the largest exporter in the world. But, as many conservative media outlets have reported since before 2017, the Russians have spent millions funding various anti-fossil organizations.

The Russians helped fuel movements on the extreme left and extreme right, in order to make America weaker. Their GDP is about $3.8-trillion. By comparison, California alone has a $3.0-trillion "GDP." They cannot compete with us on a level field. Your guy is Putin's chief collaborator in the same sense that Neville Chamberlain looked the other way for Hitler's invasion of Poland. An invasion of this size as an enterprise of a small economy such as Russia's takes years of planning and setting aside resources. Instead of noting this development (which I am sure was included in Raw Intelligence Briefings) and warning Putin against aggression, Trump courted his favor.

You may buy the pre-packaged propaganda of the radical right, but it makes me puke.

Not so much that but stealing other people's good ideas while claiming it was their ideas all along.

In fact the drilling technique known as "Fracking," which improved the fracture drilling in place since the 1940's, made it possible to extract more gas and oil than ever. This improved our chances of finally being energy independent, leading Obama to say in his 2013 State of the Union Address, "my administration will keep cutting red tape and speeding up new oil and gas permits." I remember these times clearly. Putin's Gazprom funded "Anti-Fracking," and "Anti-Fossil," activists. Obama rejected their Putin financed propaganda.

A really good President does not steal other people's ideas. He recognizes that. in a Capitalist system, ideas that do good must be encouraged as much as is possible. Obama's energy policy was to get out of the way of responsible producers and counter the Putin propaganda effort with positive outcomes and facts.

Actually, if you wanted to recognize a recent President for policies that increased production, you would probably choose Obama, based on the numbers. The number of barrels of American Crude Oil produced on his watch went from 1.830-billion in 2008 to 3.235-billion in 2016. Check my math, but that is about an 82% increase in production over his and Biden's two terms in office. After a record 8% drop in oil production in 2020 Trump's last year, he did manage to sustain Obama's growth cycle to end up with 4.124-barrels, an increase of about 18%. Based on outcome only, Obama's policies appear to have produced more oil than Trump's.

According to analysts, we could produce an additional 900,000 barrels a day, just by ramping up production.

Read your chart. It confirms my points, including the 8% dip in production in 2020, Trump's last year in office.

If only there were some kind of oil pipeline we could turn on here. Damn. Oh well.

You would not have the Keystone Pipeline to turn on. It was only 8% complete when the project was abandoned. Even if they restarted it today it would take up to a decade to complete. And the absence of a pipeline has not stopped the oil it was proposed to carry from reaching the world market. If you could "turn on." this pipeline it would not increase the supply of oil. Facts. Damn.

FACT:
It should have been started when the idiot now in the White House was second banana during Broc’s 1st term, Larry.
And you’re right, the absence has not stopped the oil, it was the Idiot-in-Chief who did that.

Facts? Obama stopped it way back in his first term. The pipeline, Obama argued, "would not would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to our economy and would not significantly lower US gas prices or improve energy security.”

You wouldn’t know a fact if it fell in your lap.

Canadian oil that was to be sold to China "would not would not make a meaningful long-term contribution to our economy and would not significantly lower US gas prices or improve energy security.” because math.

The main fact is that the oil in question, from Canadian Tar Sands has never stopped reaching the market. It just comes by train instead of pipeline. So, if you turned on a pipeline to deliver oil that is already here, how have you gained anything? BTW. I have never been against the pipeline. I just don't buy all the lies told about it.
