No, the virus doesn't care about your politics. It only cares about your immune system. If your immune system has been prepped with a vaccine, you are much more likely to resist and to survive an infection.
The politics comes in when one party is full of conspiracy theory nutjobs who believe people like Tucker Carlson, et al, ad nauseum who tell them that there is a giant conspiracy to kill people or track people, or make them magnetic with a vaccine. Frankly, the gullibility of these people make them dangerous in a modern society. I think a strategy of just enough pressure on them to make them resist it harder, but not quite enough to actually force them to get vaxed, is the fine line we want to walk.
