He sounds like he was a great guy and I am truly sorry he is no longer with us. I am sitting here balling just to think how you feel and am wondering about your mom as well. Is she ok?

They divorced and both remarried - which provided me a new sister and brother from his marriage and another brother from hers. We never learned they were step or half siblings - we all just became family

Glad that worked out and hope you continue to remember the good times with your dad. It will get a little easier as time goes on but the void will never be filled. Wishing you the best....

I was just thinking about it earlier this week - how the fact that I came into service in the early '80s I was trained by, predominantly, Vietnam vets, both NCOs, SNCOs, and officers. Great men all.
