I am finding that it's not so much about right or wrong, it's really about how things are being interpreted. Prescriptivism and descriptivism are things that need to be taught in middle school. Of course, their importance as well. Because I've been looking at how the left and right talk to each other, and that's one of the biggest issues that I see which causes these fiery debates which resorts to... chaotic discourse. We need to start seeing how the other person defines what they're saying, instead of seeing our definitions as the correct one. If we can speak to how the other person defines something, while establishing which approach is being used, I think that'll help us in the long run.
