Yeah in the varent of chess "friendly fire" (what I think it is called ), when the king is about to get checkmated he just kills his own peices.

I once thought of a nice addition to Chess:

When the king falls but the queen is still on the board, she can take role of the king until a pawn (or night if you will) takes his place and the queen returns to her old role.

It puts another dept on the game and makes for a whole new strategy.

When I was first learning chess with my friends, and we had it that the Queen can do anything the king can do. Like castleing and allow you to play if still on the board. Way more fun than regular chess

then how do you win tho

If they loses all pawns and knights and the queen (happens all the time in normal games) then if the king gose he is gone

I sometimes promote to a queen with the queen protecting said pawn
