No. Dead serious. Diabetes, High Blood Pressure, Cancer and Heart Disease all skyrocketed when the USDA made the low fat diet pyramid the American dietary standard. That pyramid was based on a now proven as fraud study, paid for by the sugar industry. Today, the USDA considers dietary cholesterol something you can eat without any restrictions, because there was never any scientific evidence that indicated eating cholesterol could be harmful to human health. Science has also proven that LDL cholesterol is not an indicator of any risk for health problems. Instead, VLDL (very low density lipoprotein) cholesterol is the only indicator of possible negative health effects. If you eat a diet without restricting fat (except artificial fats, like man made trans fats) you will always have a tiny VLDL level. Because saturated fat causes the cholesterol to become large particles, which are not harmful. Instead of small Very Low Density particles, which can be harmful. The problem is, and the reason you think this sounds crazy, is that for a good 60 or so years, everyone said fat was bad. That was never based on any science. It all came from one single fraudulent study. But since the USDA made the standard based on that fraudulent study the made up danger from fat became the standard.
Trust me, you walk into a room of people in their mid 50’s to their mid 60’s you will see fat, unhealthy people suffering from all the dangers of the high carb diet. When someone in their 40’s or younger or 70’s or older walks in the room, it becomes obvious. The people who were brought up on the low fat diet are the most obese and the least healthy. And they’ll tell you, eat less fat. But never realize that’s why they’re all suffering.
