"we get the best electric cars in the world and a profit"

eyyy they cost the price of a house and still can't beat a honda accord in terms of mileage. although it's cool that he pulled off the proof of market for ev vehicles, electric cars still kinda suck because of the lithium ion batteries and the need to use tires. electric trains, on the other hand, draw power from a consistent supply and can carry more people overall. elon musk has tried to create the tesla roadster, an electric supercar with the 0-60 of less than 2 seconds. a croatian car manufacturer called Rimac beat him to the punch earlier this year.

musk is also responsible for claiming he invented stuff made before he was born. reusable rockets were tested by nasa long before spacex built them. then there was the hyperloop, which was a concept called the "vactrain" made by Goddard a century ago. so far, hyperloop can't prove anything, taking 8 years for two people to be transported at 160 km/h. the flying scotsman was traveling at that speed between london & edinburgh during the 20s using now-obsolete steam power. and maglev trains spent 1 year of development in order to carry people, and two years of development to reach 400 km/h; all that opposed to elon musk's / virgin's hyperloop with 8.

then there's the las vegas loop, which has all the limitations of the new york subway combined with the capacity of 2 buses in terms of how many people are moved per hour. truly a boondoggle if i've ever seen one.

elon musk wants to get into the electric trucking industry. however, his trucks prioritized sports car-style performance over carrying capacity, and given the weight of batteries compared to diesel tanks, it's safe to say that the tesla semi is not gonna happen anytime soon since large batteries are needed for long ranges.

then there's other failures: solar roof tiles, a fraudulent marketing scheme; the tesla robot, which was a mime in spandex and nothing more (personally i'm against the robot takeover); and the Earth-to-Earth Starship... and i can go on about that.

Problem is no b ody wants to give up their freedom to come and go in their own car to the government and Bernie's ilk. Elon musk is innovative and profitable....government on the other hand is blackhole were creativity and freedom go to die

"Problem is no b ody wants to give up their freedom to come and go in their own car to the government and Bernie's ilk"

problem with that argument is that trains don't serve to force people to give up cars, but rather they provide an alternative to driving to those who hate driving, which is the large majority of my generation; anyone who values actual productivity; anyone who would like to go a speed above 70 mph; or simply can't afford a car/use it due to needing a driver's license or being blind.

"Elon musk is innovative and profitable"

brightline. jr central. every railroad company in the united states before the 50's.

"government on the other hand is blackhole were creativity and freedom go to die"

funny you mention that. the government builds our freeways and issues our driving permits. this has allowed the automobile industry to flourish, including elon musk's company. he also didn't start tesla, only invested in it before becoming the ceo. in 2012, obama had to bail out general motors after the recession

Few people is "extremely wealthy". If you could force these people to pay (which is not technically possible because they just go elsewhere with their money), how much money do you think would be raised? Would it be of any use? no.

Socialism is dictatorship, stealing, creating chaos, immorality and massively impoverishing the population.

What is "fair" about the government stealing the money you worked for?

What individual right enumerated in the Constitution is the right to be forced to "share".

What is this proper amount of theft to make a "share" "fair"?

If slavery is taking 100% of the products from someone else's labor by force then at what percentage is it no longer slavery? Is it 90%, 75%, 50%, 34%, 1%???

So no roads or hospitals or firemen or police or anything, right?
2 ups, 3y
In United States, most hospitals are private institutions, except for military and VA, even VA clinics are being contracted out to private clinics now. so that leaves Fire department, roads, polices (which some cities are fine with de-founding), and other small public services like libraries. Again Australia is not USA. Problem in USA is that where is that tax money going to? Unfortunately it is wasted going to other countries, illegals, and shitty actions by our leaders not approved by the people who are being taxed. That is the problem my Australian friend, you live in Australia, not USA, this things are hard for you to understand.
