Lumping people together as a monolithic group defined by a color as opposed to as actual people and individual is a fiction, and if anything, drives many away from the GOP which is more blatant with such assumptions and attempts at exploiting them.
One sad fella I used to know (IRL) had a rather large bunch active on his daily Trump worshipping posts. I once read a woman all wonderfully amazed that despite being Hispanic, he wasn't a Democrat!
The dude unfriended then later blocked me.
Last year he friend requested me when he hopped off that train. Man, they went vicious on his ass, memeing him, even harrassing his mother, you name it. He needed his pit bull back. I blocked him. Good riddance.
