Australia? Not a recent poll, huh. And what they all have in common...no Democrats or Republicans.

Nah, it’s 2021. Australia and New Zealand usually score high up. New Zealand is social Democratic, but Australia is ehhh. Same as Canada. But those countries I believe just have beautiful environments and built up social services. Just not as much as the Nordic countries.

Actually in many cases, it's a result of having lesser expectations, as was found with Denmark when they topped the list some years ago.
It wasn't so much that folks thought they lived in the greatest place ever, it was that it was more in their nature to be cynical and expect to be disappointed. The happiness was thus a result of that expection not being quite fulfilled,,,
