You're asking the wrong person. You need to ask that question to BLM. Apparently only black lives that they can profit from matter. The rest they don't care about.

End drug war so we won't need to meet arrest quotas with racial profiling.

Did you know the majority of blacks are in favor of racial profiling when it comes to Arabic people.

Racial profiling works. The majority of the time when the cops detain someone who fits a profile they usually get the guy. For some reason when anything like this happens to blacks they get bend out of shape. No other race seems to complain about it. Methinks the racist radical left has been fooling blacks into believing that racial profiling is racist.

It is just another step in the path to the final solution... oops I meant final goal of abolishing local police and creating a federal police, just like all of the fascist, nazi, communists and any other socialist nation.

I call Truth (isn't it refreshing when someone calls something other than bullshit?). If person of X race wearing a hoodie is known to have committed a crime, why would you look for someone of Y race wearing a suit?
[deleted]

Exactly. And I appreciate you calling Truth.

if that's true, it's biting them in the ass.

"racial profiling works" more evidence when conservatives say it doesn't exist.

finding drugs on somebody doesn't mean a cop stopped a crime, it means they filled a quota.

No one at any time and any where ever said racial profiling does not exist.

I'm really thinking that you live in this ideological cocoon, never knowing or understanding what people outside of your cocoon think. You just sit there in that cocoon and think everyone outside of your cocoon only thinks the polar opposite of what you think.

That's pretty tragic that not only do you not listen to anything we have to say but that you keep your brain so tightly constrained to you little cocoon.

they said it themselves. don't YOU believe they use racial profiling to meet quotas and performance goals?
[deleted]

And what would a performance goal be? Wouldn't that be about how effective you are at your job? Their job is to find and arrest people who seem to most likely to have committed the crime they are investigating.

If they are just arresting black people to fill some sort of a quota don't you think that would come out in a performance review. If they were just arresting black people then not only are they not doing their job but it would appear that they were racists. Those cops would be disciplined.

These days cops are afraid to arrest a black person. The media could spin the arrest in such a way that the cops would get fired, even if he or she did everything by the book.

You're side gave that one cop who shot a black woman while that black woman was stabbing another black woman. What was that about?? Is it only black criminal lives matter? Innocent black lives don't matter to the left?

privatizing government leads to conflict of interest, especially in prisons where the incentive is to keep em in longer and fill em up with arrest quotas. it's built into the contracts actually.
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
That is just one opinion. I don't really care if a pedophile, rapist or murderer is kept in prison for the rest of their lives. Unfortunately when a person's time is up then it would be criminal to keep them incarcerated any longer.

You're really hung up on this quota stuff aren't you. If quotas are so bad than what is your opinion on the Civil Rights Act of 1964?

So let me guess, you are one of those people who think that anything privately owned sucks and should be taken over by the government. You're probably happy that Obama banned new federal contracts with them.

I think the exact opposite. I don't think the government should own anything except for the land that their buildings are on. Everything else should either be owned privately or either owned by the states or no one at all.

I want to limit the government back down to the size and power that existed at our founding. They need to stop stealing our money and taking our freedom. If that means all prisons go private then that is fine. People are generally far less corrupt than governments.

performance goals ARE another term for quotas silly.

enforcing a failed drug war isn't helping society. the law they are enfArcing should be changed. no sympathy.
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
Really? You do know that most businesses have annual performance reviews. I've had several of them. None of them, not one single review, had anything to do with quotas. It was all about my performance in doing my job.

So are you trying to change the subject to the drug war? I wouldn't call what we have been doing a drug "war". More like a selective drug enforcement program where politicians can get their drugs without any hassles. If I were president (which will never, never, never, never ever happen) I would show you what a drug war is supposed to look like, complete with dead drug cartel bodies littered all around the world. And if some politician or group of politicians complained I would publicly out then for the scumbags they are. I don't care what party they are in.

It would be the cop who cried victim. I am just pointing out the absurdity of the left. Private prisons???? Now what are you on about?

from your link "Obviously, the fact that reasonable quotas are generally permissible doesn’t mean that they’re necessarily good policy. I don’t have any expertise on that issue and am agnostic about it."
[deleted]
0 ups, 3y
And you and I are supposed to be more expert on this issue than a guy writing a paper for a College Criminal Law review?

We have even less expertise on this issue. I never even think about stuff like this because there far bigger issues than the minutia the left fusses over while they are tearing our country apart from within.

Many conservatives have denied racial profiling exists. On many memes.

Well I can't speak for them. But the majority of us know that it exists and we also know that it is an essential part of police work.

Then for what? Private prisons are mostly filled with minorities for marijuana while the whites who enjoy pain pills are free to go.
3 ups, 3y,

Yet the left gives more power to the guy who drafted the three strikes law, which crushed minority communities, and the woman who arguably locked up more people for cannabis than anyone else in the country. Yes, end the war on people known as the drug war.

Instead of asking why the US has incarcerated 2.2 million, why is no one asking why 2.2 million can't obey the damn law? If MJ is against the law, there is a real easy way to avoid going to prison for it. Can you guess what it is?
2 ups, 3y,
1 reply
So you will accept caging people for cannabis when the benefits are now clearly documented and the damage the war on drugs has done is as well? By that logic, black people should have stayed in the back of the bus, women should still be arrested for wearing two piece bathing suits with no right to vote and a man should be jailed for walking down the street with another man's wife? These laws are gone because people pushed back.

No man has a right to punish another for an act that does not negatively impact someone else. Be careful of the laws you are willing to accept from tyrannical leaders in the coming days.

The potential benefits come from CBD oil. THC is a dangerous psychoactive substance, and is not safe. I think it is a hilarious irony that there was this huge campaign to end tobacco cigarette smoking only to embrace smoking mj. MJ is not safer than tobacco cigarettes, and there is clinical evidence to suggest that it may much worse in some cases.

You are equating criminals with civil rights activists. Those in prison did not break the law in service of a cause, to increase freedom and civil rights. They did it because they felt like it. By living in a society with laws, you agree to obey those laws. If you break them, society has the right to impose consequences.
[deleted]

then conservatives who broke into the capitol should go to jail.

marijuana is way healthier and more therapeutic than alcohol or tobacco, both of which are addictive and harmful.
0 ups, 3y
If breaking into the capitol is breaking the law, then those involved have broken the law and should receive appropriate consequences. Not that this always happens, for Congress itself is a collection of unconvicted criminals.

Much of the research claiming MJ to be healthy and safe occurred before 1994. This is significant because until the only legal place to get MJ to do research with was the federal farm in Mississippi. The problem with this is that street MJ was and is a very different drug.

The 'weed' of today has been hybridized and is 30 times more potent than the 'pot' of 1980. There is nothing healthy or safe about smoking anything, and the negative health effects coming to light about the THC in MJ are significant. What beneficial effects there are come from CBD oil, not smoking or trafficking MJ, and are still being researched.

conservatives criminalized marijuana in the 1930s because black people were making money selling it and white women were using it more and intermingling with blacks.
