"I'm less of a reprobate than Jesus"
When I was in high school, I played bass trombone. Once a year, the music director at the large Lutheran Church would come to the school looking for volunteers to play for Easter. Being an atheist, I could not have cared less, but the type of music being played and the acoustics were too much to turn down.
While my atheist tuba playing friend and I were waiting in an alcove to go out, I noticed a picture of Jesus- one of those generic, Jesus was a fair skinned white man with long, flowing hair. I pulled out my comb and nudged my friend, and then pretended that the picture was a mirror, as if I was Jesus.
I tell you this story to let you know that you do not know your future. You may one day open your eyes to the truth of Who God is, and to your need for a Savior. If that should happen, you will regret your petty blasphemy, just as I ended up regretting mine. I am forgiven for that sin, and all the rest, so I am free from the guilt of that thoughtless moment.
If you choose to never repent, know this- you are stacking up wrath for the Day of Judgment. Joke away all you want- it is impossible for you to insult me, so little do I consider your opinion of me to be. Which is not to say that I am not concerned for your soul, but in the end, it is your soul to protect, or to destroy.
