Even if the Vikings didn’t deliberately mistreat natives, they still likely spread foreign diseases. Also the Scandinavians were terrible to their natives, the Sami people. I think as a general rule, the Vikings mistreated and enslaved/killed everyone. They are less controversial than other colonizers because they didn’t have a racial prejudice and enslaved many white Europeans, for instance, the English peasants whose churches they burned down.

9/11 was recent, and killed thousands of people. We should still remember 9/11, as it was a terrible event and started a war.

Of course we should remember 9/11 and how tragic it was. The idea behind this was that the US often tries to cherry-pick its history to play the victim, and to remember all tragedies, even if they don’t exactly make you patriotic.

Some tragedies, others atrocities.

Well up to 90 percent died from disease mostly Small pox. It is estimated there WERE more Indians than Europeans, WERE, Then the 10 percent left we had kill each other too. Sad but true. But it is history, Europeans won. Mostly due to intentional and unintentional Biological Attack.
