You do realize even in that example the Colombian girl didn’t die right? Granted, there is still psychological damage done from being pregnant at such a young age, possibly from rape. But an abortion wouldn’t take that away. What’s your point?
All abortion should be legal because 0.4% of pregnancies are in girls 14 or younger. Is that what you’re getting at?
Funny you should bring up coat hangers because that’s exactly the kind of logic that could make you pro gun. After all, people can just use pipes and other basic hardware to build shotguns, and the 9/11 terrorist only used box cutters. I’m willing to believe that abortion and gun violence involve two very different mindsets. Look no further than basically all of latin america for proof that gun laws are ineffective being that criminals find a way. However, in recent years from 2011 to 2017, the abortion rate dropped by 19% in the same time period that 32 states enacted 394 restrictions, most of which went into effect.
Before you put words into my mouth, no I’m not a 100% anti abortionist no matter the circumstances. My position is the same as mainstream conservatism, that you make exceptions to the law, not laws for the exceptions. In other words, there are extreme cases (like rape, medical necessity, ect.) where exceptions to an abortion ban can and should take place.
