The light at the end of the tunnel is that they won't be able to maintain the equipment. Sure, they have armored vehicles - but that number will fall until they have the same handful that they had before. The aircraft - they'll patch them up until they explode on the runway or fall out of the sky. The night vision, it will be mistreated and stop working, with no way to repair it.
I have no doubt that they'll use it against us, and that's bad. We can hope that they come to rely on it, just before it dwindles away.
