Spot on. The one fun part of all the drama they start is they often get caught up in it. They had zero concern of dying elders when dems infected old folk homes but now they want me to mask to save their grannies.

The drama catches us all though. I have worked throughout this mess and today I was warned that if I didn't take the vaccine they could not promise that I would continue to work much longer. I told them good luck getting a snowflake to take my place. I will not quit but if I get sent home for refusing a medical experiment I will sue.

I don't know who specifically you mean but I've read quotes from prominent Dems basically saying they didn't trust Trump and wouldn't put it past him to rush or try to push through an unsafe vaccine for political reasons but they would trust Fauci/ other scientists if THEY recommended taking the vaccine.... And as far as I know, Biden etc took the vaccine publicly as soon as they could... Trump did not.

To be clear, I don't actually want repubs to die. but at this stage of the game, it is increasingly for me to have compassion (assuming the skeptics here are even american) when literally all I have seen here since the beginning of the pandemic until now is downplaying covid and vaccine skepticism. I've had countless conversations with these people since the beginning.

But I think from now on I'm going to post the covid meme saying "thank you" in Chinese as a stock response to people still downplaying covid, promoting vaccine skepticism, etc.... Similar to my stock popcorn response to people still claiming Biden stole the election.

2. I wasn't necessarily trying to say that I actually want to let repubs die. Anti-vaxxer repubs are Americans too. I personally know antivaxxer repubs and I don't want then to die. People on the right going so far as claiming that Covid literally does not exist ( as recently as 2 days ago ). And meme after meme sh*tting on vaccines and on Biden for trying to appeal to people to get them.......... Record covid hospitalizations (over 10,000) currently in Florida, meanwhile memes here on imgflip are trying to tell you this is all Biden's fault because of illegal immigrants from Mexico. Ya I personally know and have had discussions with doctors, nurses, & hospital workers (both lifelong republicans and democrats) who have no ties to the CDC and the consensus has been clear for quite a while... Covid is worse than the flu.

Covid is real, the vaccine may be right for you depending on many factors including personal medical history and age. It’s a personal choice and attempts to mandate and require it are tyrannical despotism. Focus on therapeutics is more important now.

From what I hear, the vast majority of new covid cases are among unvaccinated people and rarely do the few individuals who manage to catch "breakthrough cases" require hospitalization........ Therefore the most important thing right now is VACCINATION. Because what the f*ck do you need therapeutics for if you don't catch covid in the first place?

Well a bunch of dumbasses didn't want to get the vaccine so we now have the Delta variant which the vaccine is less effective against but ya..... last I heard new covid cases (including Delta variant) are still 80%+ among unvaccinated people.

Once again.. this isn't about me. I'm not in the high risk demographic for covid to begin with, I get pretty good exercise, and I'm already vaccinated. Me being fearful would be irrational. This is about other Americans. My dumbass republican neighbors for example. I don't want them to die but I'm also not trying to force them to do anything. I'm glad various companies are pressing people to get vaxxed though and I hear fox news is now actually pushing more pro-vaccine stuff, so maybe they will finally get the message & vaccine.

But I wouldn't want to risk spreading it to other people who might get sick. I have direct family and friends who have been hospitalized and died from it so I know that side of covid. Beyond the possibility of spreading it to others, I wouldn't want to contribute to creating variants which might be worse than the original. And that is what unvaccinated people are basically doing... Not stopping the spread. Not slowing the spread. They're keeping it going. And by keeping covid going amongst each other, variants will be created which might eventually be unaffected or less effected by the vaccine....f*cking us all anyway.

In any case, I don't really need to do anything.. corporate America is doing it for me. And I'm glad. I hope they jack up insurance prices on the unvaccinated people too. You want to put Americans at risk becuz muh freedumb, you can pay more.

Well I don’t think black and Latino democrats are watching Fox News so that probably isn’t what’s going to push the needle. FDA approval and removal of immunity for vacc companies might do some, but common sense says it’s not that scary a virus if you are constantly caught not wearing masks and importing infected migrants in the hundreds of thousands. The majority of FOX News viewers are older, moderately educated White folks from Middle America/Red States. THAT'S a demographic, or a combination of them. There's no such thing as a "White viewer." Location, education, age, socio-economic class, job type... these are all applied to Whites to come up with a demographic.

Then you have Blacks, Hispanics, Asians, Native Americans, ... no variation within them, just these monolithic blocks.
It's this myopic reduction/dehumanization classification that I'm referring to.

Still haven't seen "Get Out" so idk if I want to read about it considering I do plan to see it... I'm definitely a fan of some of Peele's work. From what I hear covid is disproportionately killing Black and Latino individuals so idk.. that is a problem.. (although if the statistics I've heard are true it seems possible that eventually it will be disproportionately killing "white" individuals... Also a problem.) Idk.

Eventually I don't think race will be as much as an issue for humans as it is now and we'll just find some other way to do divide ourselves.
