well i think it was about both. no matter what a capitalist decides to do with science, he or she needs scientists willing to do it. so scientists have to make their own judgments about whether they want to help open Pandora's box and how to regulate science application. the box is already too open to ever shut. some discoveries are made in innocence, and some in thoughtlessness about applications and control, but the only way back to pre-nuclear, pre-genetic manipulation, pre-who-knows-what-else-is-coming is to stop all science and destroy all the records. and even that would be just a temporary measure. i don't know if dinosaurs are coming, but we already have plenty to worry about at the same threat level or worse. when we have the opportunity to use science for good, like climate analysis and control, we have to take it.

They considered using feathers, but they didn't look ferocious enough with them.
Utahraptor - with is larger - was discovered when the movie came out, so that was their justification, although it was AFTER that they were described, if I got that right.

Probably because frogs - especially African Clawed Frogs - have been extensively used in lab research and thus their genome is better known plus easier to manipulate, but really it was just an excuse for that sex changing bit.

Someone told me the other day about some invasive thorny plant from Cali popping up at her home in Westchester, so I looked up invasives from there, but saw invasives TO there, and that was one. I knew about bullfrogs there for years. Although this was in a section of one pond that a population was found. aargh, was reading a mess of stuff about there, so I'm off on the detals.

What does it matter if the guy was capitalist or not? Could have been a government-sponsored exhibit manager trying to cut cornere.

Because in the books it specifically cites this as the reason. It was not the alternative you suggest.

It's easily been five or six years since I read Creighton's novel, so if he did actually make it that way then my bad.
