Yep, this is a tired trope. There is a user who actually dsables comments on every meme. Meanwhile, Bork Fool Yadumb (Buck Fou Yiden) has to scour the stream for memes where his buddies made alts and disabled comments as some sort of "See!? TOLD YOU SO, DIRTY LEFTIST. *Mouth foaming.*"

SMART people agree with scientists because REAL scientists collaborate and look for peer review and other input help to prove OR to DIS-prove their findings which is how real science works.

So if ANYONE "funds scientists" they should be looking for the truth, which is what good scientists pursue and eventually present as close as possible. Regardless of what that truth is, it is wise to "agree" with the outcomes of good science.

Now- if you want to dive into the world of BS science where a biased interest group (ie- the tobacco lobby) funds "scientists" to derive a predetermined outcome.....that is another story all together.
