If that simple cloth mask will stop airborne viruses then it will stop tear gas, give it a try.

If anything I am exhausted over the ignorance of all these brainwashed fools. I sit here typing what should be common sense and people like you argue against facts. If you was wearing CDC issue gear, with an air tank, then yes, I would agree with you. But we are sorely under equipped for an airborne virus. People have died thinking they was doing something useful when it just wasn't no where near enough. Yet no one stops to question the quality of their gear. The media just blames their getting sick on other people not wearing the mask, never questioning the quality of their gear. Their denial of this is damning. If you are around someone coughing the best thing you can do is to avoid them because I promise you the mask is not going to stop airborne germs. Hold your breath, breath out slowly if you must walk past them, and high tail it out of there.
