Let them have their day off - 70 percent of them don’t even know why. I wonder if China Joe is going to let us celebrate our independence from tyranny? If not, we may get our own holiday.. Second Independence Day - celebration right outside the people’s capitol building.

The observed Holiday is on Monday the 5th. I guess your point is under your hat.

The Fourth of July is still on Sunday. Independence Day is Monday.

And most of the organized celebrations, fireworks, etc., will be Sunday, not Monday.

The official title is "Independence Day", not "Fourth of July". July 4th is Independence Day's recognized date. July 5th is a Monday off for many due to Independence Day falling on a Sunday. As far as celebrations go, Sunday will be the day for it, not Monday. Take a look around America, you'll see I'm right.

Doing it on Sunday night rather than Monday simply so we can stay up late, eat, drink beer, and not worry about waking up to go to work the next morning. If they did fireworks & celebrations Monday night everyone would be tired & hung over Tuesday morning.
