It's the cost for decent labor. Hence the labor shortage.

You don't pay your workers a decent wage, then you don't have (many, if any) workers.

Market decides your worth. $15 an hour may be a lot of money in rural cities in states like Tennessee while $15 is practically nothing in big cities in states like California and New York. Population also has a big factor. For Employees in Florida can afford to pay next to nothing to their employees because there are lots of people looking for jobs, so if you do not take their low offer they know someone else will. In all/all market should dictate, and it varies region to region, that is why is SO retarded to force a set minimum wage across the entire country.

Pretty much! Delivery programs are probably going to take over for most to-go and take out places for hire. They still need people to assemble and look over orders, these just minimize the need for customer to worker interaction. Which, honestly, given how some people act in public (like they've never had a minimum wage job), is honestly for the best.

Sad part is, people nowadays aren't smart enough to realize that the price of the good or service will go up to off set the wage hike the think they deserve.
