I'm actually pretty much convinced it was 'engineered' in a lab and people did cover it up. Not 100%, but this article is really well written, has good sources, etc. While its generally circumstantial - it makes a lot of sense. It isn't a 'dark conspiracy' cover up. Instead, we have a lab that didn't have good enough controls; we knew that and gave it grants and funding anyway. In essence, nobody wants it to be true. Its pretty dense - 47 pages if I print it.
