I think you're conflating representatives of a legislative body and what they do with the United States' leading law enforcement agency but... who knows, to be honest. I've never been fully convinced that a "deep state" doesn't exist. If a political party can have that much sway over the FBI, may the Q-anon people are correct too? Much of the past 4 years of investigation into Russian collusion - investigation that only seemed to sap funds away from other critical missions and proved that, yes Russia (and likely every other developed country in the world is running ops in the US and vise versa) yielded nothing of substance, after all.
Maybe those on the left will now realize that politicians are not their friend and we shouldn't trust government to run every aspect of our lives? Or maybe they'll be convinced to lift/shift fire away from Orange Man, now that he's ousted, and aim at something else... Americans have always been easily distracted.
