Except that they've been drastically decreased, both by funding and by early retirement and quitting. Why would anyone want to do a job where no matter what you do, you're hated and threatened with lawsuits or prison time for just doing your damn job?

Criminals in LA took Madonna's dogs (was it Lady Gaga???) despite her having access to the LAPD and her own private security.

It's not like having police is a guarantee no crime will ever occur...they're just a very effective deterrent/response group.

Or when leftists screech "ACAB" but still think that an 18-25-y.o. young man should go to prison for having sex with a high school girl.
