neither lol. 3 reasons
1) both countries exist for heinous war criminals
2) desert. f**k living in the desert
3) just because one has better human rights records regarding lgbt rights doesn't mean it's automatically better. imagine using lgbt issues as a crutch to defend the military industrial complex. utter f**king hacks run imgflip politics

I live about 15 miles from Copenhagen. We have an annual "Pride Parade". The parade never, NEVER, goes through the district of Nørrebro, because this district has a high concentration of immigrants from the Middle East and their descendants. So they cannot guarantee the safety of the parade due to intolerance from ... well, you know.

Jews are also discouraged from wearing traditional Jewish Kippahs when going there, for their own safety.

I'm not Jewish. I'm a straight white male. I'd still prefer Israel.

israel may be better for living in, but anyone who knows anything about the nation's history & treatment of palestinians would preferably be living in neither nation, let alone support either of them in a conflict. most lgbt citizens who stand with palestine do so because israel is using u.s. taxpayer money for weapon usage. biden is paying billions to israel for a peace treaty atm, which is unjustified. it should be noted that a bunch of israeli teens and young adults also hate the IDF for the atrocities they commit.

True maybe but the question was, "Which of these countries would you prefer to live in?", not "Would you prefer to live somewhere else?" You're ducking that question.

By the way, the Eurovision Song Contest final is tonight. Which reminds me that Israel won in 1998 with Dana International singing the song "Diva". She was born a boy but has undergone gender-altering surgery. I cannot really imagine her representing any Muslim nation.

So:

If given the choice, and given that you belonged to a sexual minority, which of these nations would you prefer to live in?

Try not to evade the question this time.

"She was born a boy but has undergone gender-altering surgery. I cannot really imagine her representing any Muslim nation"

Fair case in point, though a song like that could also come from holland, iceland, or the czech republic simply for secular western European policy. not to undermine israel's lgbt life.

israel is so illegitimate, they've even wedged themselves into a competition meant for europeans

also Eurovision still doesn't cover for israeli war crimes. any nation who drops bombs or launches missiles are terrorists/war criminals, no matter how many gay people are dancing in their respective urban streets or entering singing competitions

"If given the choice, and given that you belonged to a sexual minority, which of these nations would you prefer to live in?"

i'm not sure saying neither is really evasion, but i'll give you an answer. I would begrudgingly coose israel just because i know my chances of getting beheaded, stoned, or tossed off a building are significantly lower. However, due to my dislike of the Israeli govt, i would also be committing tax evasion if i lived there. Fortunately, i plan to live in an efficient nation like holland, where taxes are used for urban bike roads, not so much the military

Regarding:
1) Israel only exists because it was carved out for some Eastern Europeans through slaughter, theft and international political machination.
2) Palestine is not a desert. It does have sand dunes on the coast.
3) Agreed. The real question is, would you rather be a gay ARAB in Palestine or Israel? Not so easy to answer.

Really tired of the overapplication on this site in applying American far left-right paradigm to the politics of every other country, as if there is a direct parallel. Right wingers have these tropes that every country with Muslims applies Shariah Law (none of them do) and that somehow leftists are "in bed" with radical Islamists (as they see all Muslims as radicals, yet they can't provide single instance of it, and Justice Democrat puppets don't count).

"Really tired of the overapplication on this site in applying American far left-right paradigm to the politics of every other country"

^eyyy based statement. the typical imgflip right winger's brain can only operate on a left-right paradigm.

"Agreed. The real question is, would you rather be a gay ARAB in Palestine or Israel? Not so easy to answer."

honestly what the OP should've posted. A gay/lesbian arab's gonna have a better life in israel, though probably suffer from discrimination if he/she is a muslim. either way, not a justification for blowing up palestinian hospitals like the IDF have been doing.

Or, for that matter, a woman. One of these two countries actually believes in women's rights.

Amen.
That also would make a great meme/question to shove in liberals' faces.

They'd probably reply with the hope that all of Palestine is transported to their country, then turn a blind eye to the resulting incidents against gays and trans people... Or somehow blame it on white people..

I'd be super down with transporting all gay and trans liberals to Palestine...
Actually, ALL liberals.

If we’re citing queer phobia as the justification for murdering Palestinian civilians, does this mean we can do the same to republicans?

Are you deliberately trying to sound ignorant?
Or is it something beyond your control?

Also gay marriage is illegal in Israel, so don’t even go there.

Israel has gay pride parades.
Palestine has public executions of homosexuals and those merely suspected of homosexual.
Stop attempting to defend the indefensible; it makes you sound desperate and crazy.

Oh no I’m deadly serious. If you think that 220 civilian casualties and the loss of their entire infrastructure is permissible because they live in a homophobic culture, then what am I supposed to do about the politicians who are actively trying to strip back my rights in this country right now?

I think it is incredibly unwise to start a fight you know you are going to lose, particularly at the cost of your citizens' lives and livelihoods.

Israel defended itself using enough force to ensure Palestinians would be unlikely or unable to try to murder Israelis again for some time; moreover, they did it with surgical precision.
While the Israelis send warnings to civilians to leave the areas they target, Palestinians hide rockets in schools and hospital; use concrete donated to build schools and hospitals to construct tunnels for terrorists; teach grade schoolers that murdering Jews is noble; and strap suicide bombs to women and children to be detonated where they will kill the most civilians.

Stop repeating the one-sided nonsense you hear in ultra left echo chambers and start educating yourself.
You are defending people who openly call for the genocide of Jews around the world; you might as well be cheering for Hitler.
