It's a public service, like maintaining roads or stopping houses from burning down. To think that I have the power to send a message to anywhere in the world for half a dollar.

Why do we even have a post office? There are enough private companies that can deliver mail. Also greenies should encourage sending emails when possible to save on trees and transportation costs.

The post office can designate that private entities are now able to deliver mail by Email, Roads are established, Private entities can now deliver mail. It was almost impossible at the inception of our country to do so. Postal service is a dinosaur in need of extinction. Democrats are too weak to acknowledge that Mail can now under a newer postal system can be paid for by the people that use it. So why the dinosaur system we have? We went to cars, planes, e tc for transport. We can have private companies deliver mail. When government is involved most things are very inefficient.

Amazon does not differentiate. Also instead of junk mail people can email and save trees. No f**kery just stupidity of costing money for a system that is out dated and does not work because of government control.
