Mortal Engine novel series by Philip Reeve. The 1st book was by far better than the movie. I would then recommend each book after that. It's a dystopian future about how civilization quite literally moves wheels on a deserted wasteland of what was once Earth.
There's also the Matched Trilogy by Ally Condie. It consists of Matched, Crossed, then Reached. It too is a dystopian future where every person is born and raised with a sole purpose pre-destined for them and well, I'd leave the rest as a mystery.
Last but not least, Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury. This book as well is about a dystopian future(I love Dystopian futures). It's a classic book made back in the 50s I believe and it has an old and renewed movie about it as well. Plot: America is now what seems to be a communist-way country(it's not specifically mentioned but you'll understand in a bit)... books and public knowledge is restricted if not banned from the country as well as any outside information. Adding on to that, enough time has passed to where firefighters are praised for their work in burning any illegal books and public knowledge. Although I will give a fair warning, the book is jam-packed with a lot of literary and figurative language even my own English Teacher had trouble deciphering some of it.
oh and don't forget about Jules Vernes!!
