Okay genius; because you apparently can’t do your own research - and I feel bad for you - I’ll give you a brief history lesson. Maybe you can share this with your history teachers that failed to mention this stuff to you while in school.
“Founded in 1865, the Ku Klux Klan (KKK) extended into almost every southern state by 1870 and became a vehicle for white southern resistance to the Republican Party’s Reconstruction-era policies aimed at establishing political and economic equality for Black Americans.”
“For its part, the Ku Klux Klan dedicated itself to an underground campaign of violence against Republican leaders and voters (both Black and white) in an effort to reverse the policies of Radical Reconstruction and restore white supremacy in the South.”
Some notable members of the KKK:
Woodrow Wilson (D); 28th president of the United States had ties and was influenced by the KKK in 1910s-1920s.
Hugo Black (D); Supreme Court Justice said all Puerto Rican’s should be considered “black” under southern law in 1920s.
Robert Byrd (D); Senator of W. Virginia and great friend of Joe Biden.
David Duke (D); Grand Wizard of the KKK who only after losing a presidential bid as a democrat changed party affiliation to Republican.
Senators Bilbo (D), Brown (D), Gordon (D), Morgan (D), and Pettus (D) were also known KKK members.
Out of 11 governors, 16 senators, and 75 congressmen - I could count the number of republican KKK members on two hands.
