Here is most recent order I could find, dated March 18, 2021: I assume it's the case development your meme references, though feel free to correct me.
The judge ruled in favor of Project Veritas on a Motion to Dismiss filed by the NYT; however, that is just an early case motion and doesn't mean that the plaintiff's lawsuit will prevail. Just means that the lawsuit *could* prevail in the future: After discovery, witness depositions, a trial, etc. This is a "win" for plaintiffs, perhaps, but it's not THE "win".
tl;dr Project Veritas has a legally viable claim but still has to prove it.
