You may have misunderstood the constitution.

Say it with me -

Representative Republic

The founding fathers were against majority rule, James Madison called it "Vile"

Minority rule is even more vile.

Like having lgbtqrstuvwxyz++ dictating acceptable speech and claiming everything is homophobic?

Yeah, that sucks.

Republic means there's no king. Democracy means people can vote. We're both and always have been.

The people vote for their representatives.

Representatives are supposed to work for the best for America.

Legislating by Judicial Activism is what Democrats do.

Yup. Representative democracy. Like, the exact definition of it.

Representative Republic means the states elect their representatives, and the representatives handle legislative action. The People don't vote for or against laws directly.

Laws must be created in the Senate or the House of Representatives - they don't start at the state level. The People address their representatives - they have no direct access to the legislative process except through the judicial branch.

The POTUS isn't elected by the people. POTUS is elected by the electoral college.

Only at the local level is majority rule the way things are done. You get to elect your Sheriff, city council, and Mayor - that's about as close as citizens can get to the legislative process unless they run for office.

You're describing a Representative Democracy. Like, the exact definition of it.

Republic means there's no king. Democracy means people can vote.

Republic is a what. Democracy is a how. We're a republic implemented by democracy.

We're both and always have been.

You should read the constitution some time. You'll find that democracy and the democratic process is not anywhere within. What I described ( loosely ) is what is described in the constitution. Read the federalist papers and you'll find that the founding fathers hated the idea of democracy.

John Adams:

"Democracy wastes, exhausts, and murders itself. There in never a democracy that does not commit suicide."

Thomas Jefferson:

"A Democracy is nothing more than mob rule. Where 51% of the people may take away the rights of the other 49%."

James Madison:

"Democracy is the most vile form of government. Democracies have ever been spectacles of turbulence and contention incompatible with personal security or the rights of property."

The people elect their representatives, that's as democratic as the law describes.

So what do you call it when 49% of the people may take away the rights of the other 51%?

Tell me, what rights did you lose?

It IS described in the Constitution. It describes the Presidency AND Congress as offices not subject to appointment by any kind of nobility. THAT'S DEMOCRACY BY DEFINITION.

Using a word like "definition" when you're making shit up, doesn't make it true. If you say "Definition" - use a dictionary. For example, your definition of "republic means there's no king" - is hilarious, I actually feel bad for you. The actual definition of Republic is: a state in which supreme power is held by the people and their elected representatives, and which has an elected or nominated president rather than a monarch.

For example, rule by the people (the actual meaning of the greek demos and kratos). We are NOT, however, ruled by the people - we are governed by elected representatives (republic). The people do not make legislation, the representatives do.

"rather than a monarch" MEANS THERE'S NO KING!!!

WHICH IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M SAYING

Likewise, your definition of democracy EXACTLY DESCRIBES WHAT I'M SAYING

You can't even realize when you've proven yourself wrong!!!

Whatever, you're lost. The United States is a republic and you aren't capable of understanding the difference.

It IS a republic because there's no king. And the office is put down to a vote so it's also a democracy.

The Constitution is very clear about that.

Nope, if big corporations ran everything, you'd have no king and no republic. You're hyperfocusing on a single necessary requirement and overlooking other necessary requirements.

Appointment by the rich and powerful with the common people being felt out falls under your definition of "democracy", but doesn't fall under any dictionary definition.

A republic (Latin: res publica, meaning "public affair") is a form of government in which "power is held by the people and their elected representatives". In republics, the country is considered a "public matter", not the private concern or property of the rulers.

Too many are fooled by the word democracy, you would almost think it is a plot by the left.

The fact that the majority of people don't recognize your definition of a word should actually concern you. That's a pretty big red flag that you're the one that's wrong.
