Spend some time. Read up on what the Alabama Voter ID law required and where they shut down points to access those "free" IDs.

And then spend some time thinking about the economic impact having to get those IDs on people in those areas.

But to break it down, the federal government is stepping in to protect a county that is being overruled by the state. The county doesn't want the highway widened and claims it will displace a thousand homes, hundreds of businesses, five houses of worship, and two schools. The state arguing that
traffic will go up 40 percent by 2040 and the county claiming traffic has been falling on I-45 since 2008, and mass displacement will only inflict more damage, among other points of dispute.

So, what was the county suppose to do, exactly if the state is unwilling to listen?
