The convention has been to name the virus after the geographic region associated with first discovery. Ebola. Rocky Mountain spotted fever. Hong Kong flu. Spanish flu. Since when are the Chinese so thin skinned?  I suggest the CCP virus. That’s not ethnic, but it is political.
