The US deficit is totally irrelevant. US can issue its own currency and it is at zero risk of not being accepted. We gave the rich 40T in the 2008 and 2020 bailouts and it didn't cause inflation.

If you think about things from the framing of news media in the US then you lack perspective. You cannot evaluate US politics without some external benchmarks for how our economic peers run their economies. If the US owes its national debt to itself, and it issues its own currency by fiat, then it can just print any spending it needs or print down any debts. Now not every country can get away with this. This is something specific to strong currency soverigns-those with total autonomy, their own currency, and a strong currency like the dollar or the pound-can do.
