The issue is "Conservatism" (and "patriotism") has been bastardized by Trumpers to mean racist, bigoted, sexist, anti-science, nationalist, gun nuts that believe they are slightly inconvenienced billionaires and don't want to be taxed but want the benefits that taxes provide.
