It's a lost courtesy I think...your reminder at the end of all of your comments is a nice "wink" for others to do it as well and I applaud you for it :)

I think it's something that new users need to be taught. Although sometimes just letting them know that upvoting gives them points does the trick.

I try to teach them as much as I can, it's definitely a cultural thing that has fallen off with the site etiquette. But that's what happens when the site gets flooded with new users I suppose. Thank you for fighting the good fight, need more like you with good positivity!

You have to remember a lot if the new users are kids and I think you have some parents here too. So as children they're growing up, and if helping them learn the value of upvoting can work to their advantage later in life. That's ok with me.
I try to show it, because actions speak louder than words.

Sneaking? More like crawling around like a vagabond looking for familiar faces. I came back a couple weeks ago and I have no idea who anyone is anymore. It's like when they did that change-username thingee a couple years ago while I was on break, except now it's worse because the site literally got repopulated during 2020 while everyone was at home with nothing to do.

That could actually be the best description of site changes I've heard in a long time...well put sir. I'm doing pretty good, life is busy, trying to get back to normal after 2020 and it's getting there but slowly. Got modded (obviously, see above) and that takes more of my time really than I have to make memes and have fun with it but it's not a bad gig, gives more perspective on the site overall and what happens behind the scenes. Lots of good users are gone now...Boma, TimidDeer, Readjusted...tons more and many may still have an account but aren't active. It's not the same site anymore for sure. Some streams have more old user activity than others, like Everyones_a_mod. Politics is still politics and has a good bit of older user content. Fun is about impossible to get anything to be successful anymore unless you post something about Tiktok, fortnite, school, or an adapted repost of an old meme and you have a lot of followers.

One good site change is the memechat function, so hit me up on that sometime if you're ever just checking things out and want to catch up. No points involved, but I sort of gave up on points a while back. Anyways, good to see an old friend again, holler at me if you need anything. Take care bud, miss your content as it was always pretty good stuff :)

Yes, I did notice that little green "M" next to your username. At first I assumed this was posted in one of your streams. To be honest I never really check Fun anymore. I can only imagine the sheer amount of traffic you guys have to approve... I've noticed the top memes and gifs are getting upwards of 1500 upvotes, which was unheard of in my time but does point to the swollen userbase this site has acquired over the last couple years. Submissions galore.
Pandemic didn't hit me too hard. I live by myself and only take occasional visits to see family. Still working. Of course it's going to be hard re-acclimatizing myself to the post-COVID world. Fun. Not.
I haven't made any posts to speak of. But since you're talking about these alternative streams where osmosis has drawn the seasoned users, I might take a look. Basically though, I still only come online when I get an email notification.
I'll make sure to give you a message one of these days. The memechat feature is still new to me, so maybe it'll take some figuring out. Or maybe I've turned into Einstein II and it won't take any effort at all. At any rate, take care and treat yourself to a donut today ;)

thanks, i will let you know, back when i just started imgflip i had a really long argument with a user by the name of ship-shap, but i was stupid and we had a 2 day fight on a community mod page, Olympian to be specific, so he never really liked me XD
