Well even if I assume Biden did indeed get 80 million votes. Trump wasn’t far behind at 75 million. That’s far more votes than the entire population of your country. That’s more votes than the entire population of the UK, Canada, France, Italy, Spain, and many more world countries. So again, your opinion from that former prison colony of yours doesn’t count

That's why their settling of Australia began after the Revolution.

Whoa there. Australia had a mandatory gun buyback. I don't doubt guns can be legally obtained but I seriously doubt it's as easy as you claim.

I severely doubt it's easy to get a handgun permit living in Melbourne.
[deleted]
3 ups, 3y
Who needs guns in Australia? They have Crocodile Dundee
1 up, 3y
The buyback was mandatory for the types of guns that have been outlawed.
1 up, 3y,
3 replies
But when they happen, don't you wish you had a gun? Dingos, anyone?
1 up, 3y
Most farmers do.
1 up, 3y
There are no laws prohibiting gun ownership in Australia. As long as you're mentally stable and don't have a criminal record, you're free to get one and if necessary get trained in how to use it. If a mentally stable non-criminal (i.e. the vast majority of the population) doesn't have a gun, it is not because they couldn't get one. Most of us have no need for one - we have almost no mass shootings, a much lower crime rate, etc, etc. We're free to get a gun once screened, but most of us have no need to
1 up, 3y
(Are those who DO need a gun can generally get one.)
0 ups, 3y,

All kidding aside, Australia is a kinda death filled continent. It would be morally wrong for the government to prohibit those in the outback the opportunity to protect themselves. Was the buyback mostly directed to city folk?

Or more like George III was being a tyrant. We threw out British rule and made a world superpower, which today is the only world superpower. Don’t be jealous. It doesn’t look good on you.
1 up, 3y
Nope, you balked at the thought of paying your own defence (right after Britain bankrupted itself defending you), lied about "oppressive taxes" (your mild raised taxes - WHICH PAID FOR YOUR OWN DEFENCE - were FAR cheaper than the taxes paid back in the UK), made up lies about British atrocities (there was no Boston Massacre, for example) and the rest is history.
Also, your founding fathers seemed to lack basic knowledge about government, much like you: King George III was a figurehead. The Prime Minister and Parliament were the decision makers.

Wikipedia??? You can’t be serious.

Even so, it admits the British were in the wrong:

“British troops had been stationed in the Province of Massachusetts Bay since 1768 in order to support crown-appointed officials and to enforce unpopular Parliamentary legislation”

And Britain wouldn’t even let the colonies have a seat in the parliament that ruled over us. It was taxation without representation.

Just stop while you are ahead. Stop talking to me about stuff I know more than you do about.
1 up, 3y
John Adams himself defended the soldiers, who acted in self defence, and there was definitely no massacre. And America's founding fathers, such as Benjamin Franklin, OPPOSED representation, despite using "taxation without representation!" as a rallying cry.

[deleted]
1 up, 3y

1 up, 3y
No we're ruled by an elected parliament that partially utilises proportional representation, and which requires a candidate win the majority of the vote - not just a plurality - to win.
Try to get acquainted with fact first next time, won't you?
Also, fun fact: most of the most free and democratic nations are monarchies.

Ask Mr. Mustchin about the Governor General and the Australian Constitutional Crisis of 1975. Considering that the Queen's appointed Governor General can summarily removed the duly elected party from power in the Australian Parliament (which he did in 1975), it seems to me that the Queen is a hell of a powerful "figurehead" with a sizeable amount of "say-so".

Except it's an absolute fact of reality that we are NOT ruled by a monarch but by an elected Parliament whose members are constitutionally required to be citizens solely of Australia.
