I prefer this type as nothing gets caught on it and can be opened by an elbow easily when your hands are full.

The handleโ€™s easier to open stuff with your hands full

Handle. Knobs are just a pain to turn when you have wet hands

I prefer knobs in the home. Handles made like the one in the photo tend to be rather in the way and too often "catch" clothing. And knobs, especially old-fashioned types, are more visually appealing. I do appreciate handles in public restrooms, however (I dislike turning a knob with my bare hands after washing up).

Due to some of my favorite vest being ripped open by door handles, I really am tempted to replace them all with knobs.

I was raised in a house where we had handles, but I went to a school where they had knobs. So you can say I've grown accustomed to both from a very young age on. When it comes to opening the door itself, I really don't care.

Ah, that...
My shirt got caught in a handle when I was running once. It was a terrible fall.
They are dangerous objects ๐Ÿ˜…

I feel like knobs are great for doors to outside and public places, bit rooms in houses need knobs. Handles rip your shirts and ruin your day. However, if you are clumsy like me, knobs really hurt when you run your hip into them.

I like to call the round one a knob and the one on the right a handle. The handle is usually easier to use because you just have to push down on it, but it would feel pretty weird inside a house.

Well, it's meant to be that way. I just didn't type it in order.
And yes, it looks kinda 'elaborate' inside the house, but it's easier.

True. Although I gotta say, the dude who posted the pic of the push down handle had the right idea. Oh, also I thought that what you called each thing might've been part of the question because I couldn't tell if it was a "which one's better" question or a "what do you call this" question.
