I like the idea of giving them back to Mexico.

And making Puerto Rico a state. Then we don't have to change the flag.

Texas: we want to secede! Me: don't let the door hit you on the way out.

Really? That much snow?
2 ups, 3y
Enough snow to leave a foot print is bad for areas that don’t get it normally. Around here we call 6 inches of snow a dusting

No, neighbor isn’t the President. And for a friendly bunch they sure seem to hate the rest of the country

My thing is, Texans don’t go and squeal for public officials to save them every time they get in a predicament. We often solve the issues ourselves, with help from the surrounding communities. And the only reason we “hate the rest of the country” is because for one, it’s so inconsistent with the Texan friendly vibe that we openly oppose it, and two, not speaking for everyone, but Texans are usually smarter just because of private education and less government schooling. Over the past few months, I have seen license plates from Arizona, California, New York, Pennsylvania, Oregon, Nevada, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Georgia, and many more, and not on the ass of eighteen wheelers. People are moving to Texas because Texas is just overall a better place to live.

People move to Texas because the businesses are moving there due to the lack of laws protecting employees. People follow the jobs because they need one. But guess what? They also vote and will turn your state into a better place.

I beg to differ. Texas was once fully functional as its own country, the only state that has the right to fly their flag at the same height of h to e American flag, I might add. We enjoy the lower taxes and freedom of our capitalism. We are quite independent because we don’t need others to help us, because we help each other. I hope my distant neighbors will teach your political colleagues who are migrating here that principle.

Ok well stop listening to your parents they’re dumb and making you dumb.

What makes you think I listen to my parents? My political beliefs are solely my own. I don’t intend to make the same mistakes as others. I can assure you my conservatism is based off of my own ethical and religious tendencies.

The entire country was once not the United states and Texas belonged to Mexico. You are not independent and get more in federal money than the average of all 50 states.

Because the relief put our country in more debt

Worried about debt? Stop voting Republican

I’m not the one supporting a party that is spending people’s hard earned money on reparations, unemployment wages (rather than reopening the economy), and welfare (fraud), just saying.

Your the one supporting wages so low that hard working families need food stamps and heating assistance to live. All paid for by people like me and not the rich that own your party

Wow, can you actually say what wages we support to make families broke?

Hey I think you just had a breakthrough!

Yes you support a party that believes the poor need less because the rich need more. Pretty simple ain’t it?

Since the 70’s wages at the bottom have gone up a whole 11% while CEO pay has gone up just under 1000% in the same time.

You know what the bottom workers do? They spend the money they make and that drives the economy. But when they make so little thanks to your party refusing to raise the minimum wage that they have to apply for living assistance, you also call them mooches for needing it.

That’s just one of the reasons I hate the Republican Party and support progressive candidates. America first means taking care of Americans right? Or is that to hard a concept to get?

WHEN HAVE WE REFUSED TO PAY MINIMUM WAGE
0 ups, 3y
Never claimed it wasn’t paid. Better question is when have you raised it? And yes there members of your party that want to lower or get rid of it because it’s unfair to business.

So are you an American supporting Americans? Or are you one of the as long as I get mine crowd? Right now I think you are a good American, but you vote the other way

That’s what we do. We don’t call out for help and shit unless we really need it, and we call out to our neighbors, because Texan neighbors give each other the help they need. We would work fine without all this political bullshit tearing the country apart.

"The biggest shortfall in energy production stemmed from natural gas. Gas pipelines were blocked with ice or their compressors lost power. Much of the gas that was available was prioritized for heating homes and businesses rather than generating electricity. "

From what I read, their wind generation didn't decline that much, and would have to have been entirely offline to account for the 34,000 megawatts they were short.
