I graduated high school and joined the army. I have a few college courses, but no degree.

I’ve been working since I was 14, and while I did save money, I also partied quite a bit of that money away.

But I still own a house (250K), 2 vehicles (bought brand new at 35K and 80K) and numerous extras (like a pool and trampoline for the kids).

Quit complaining and do something with your life.

College put me in 40K in debt and I haven't even graduated yet. This country is hell. No other economic peer does this to its citizens. It literally made me too poor to leave.

I took a STEM BS cuz I knew studying things I enjoy (music, anthropology, sociology, etc) would never pay well. It pisses me off to no end. I'm a much better writer than I am a scientist, but writing critical social science doesn't pay the bills.

People in my generation has a damn hard time making a good living with an unfinished college degree, but you're so ignorant you think we're on equal footing. It's not true. Everything got more expensive-way more expensive-at a rate faster than wages grew. I'm talking housing, transportation, food, education, damn near everything except TVs. I'm going to doubt that China number, honestly. Remember how China's always declaring suspiciously high growth numbers. But even if the Chinese death toll were ten times that high, they'd still be doing a lot better than the US, both in absolute terms and as a percentage of the population.

Well idk I have no reason to disbelieve them on the public health stats. As for the growth numbers, they have a near total command economy so those employment stats are borderline irrelevant in the same kinda fashion that our GDP numbers are irrelevant-both are fake. They do money printer go brr for their poor ppl like we do for billionaires and will just nationalize any company that is too greedy or is about to fail. The Chinese govt also does a lot of the new deal style public employment programs and pad their #s up to whatever they want. Tbh we could do the same and it would make our economy stronger. This a central thesis of the MMT movement, that some unemployment is inevitable and the unemployed may as well work for the govt rather than being unemployed and that it would create pressure on the private sector to treat its workers better anyway.
