I may be a dumb guy here - but wouldn't government control of Twitter mean that free speech couldn't be censored...at least not currently because of the constitution.

The Constitution curtails GOV power, not CORP power. CORPs can silence whoever they want.

The problem is not that he was silenced on one platform. The problem is that combined with alternate platforms being shut down.

We don't need to nationalize it. I think we need to just follow the law. Now that they are no longer protected by section 230, we can shut them down and arrest their board of directors anytime someone puts something illegal on their platform, as accessories to the crime.
We do that a few dozen times and their servers get shut down every single time, people will leave them in droves.

What a wonderful world that would be. A truly patriotic Republic where communist socialist liberals are arrested and tried for their crimes against America. Where people like Jack Dorsey are hung in a public square for their treasonous acts.

Liberals, Socialists, and Communists are NOT the same thing. Liberalism is a RIGHT-wing ideology, whereas Socialism and Communism are on the left. Look at most liberal parties' platforms online. Their alignment is usually center-right to right-wing. Some examples include the Australian Liberal Party and Japan's Liberal Democratic Party, two analogues to our Republican Party.
