That wasn't an assault. That was a peaceful assembly. If we get to an actual assault. Bodies will be piled in the streets.

A couple F-16's, drones, & apache helicopters might quickly remind em how inadequate even the best civilian guns are at fighting the government.... What I mean is a lot of people would surely die of Covid on that day. Har har.

Then I imagine the government would probably expand/become more powerful/intrusive to oversee/control/subdue it's population out of what would seem to be a justifiable fear that such an attempt might happen again.

This time I agree with lokiare if this had been violent coup or people taking over there would have been massive amounts of bullets flying. Just sayin.

Funny how you're ignoring the immense violence, the mob mentality, the rage that spread like wildfire, how hard people fought to overrun the officers. How they wanted to attack Pelosi (most likely execute), and kill Mike Pence.
They killed a police officer, a political nobody. I have every reason to believe that if they had their hands on those two, they would have definitely killed them.
People were trying to climb over barricades, they went to occupy and control the House and Senate Floors. That is, until for some reason, they just gave up on it. They took control of the House and the Senate, then relinquished their control and left.

Let me get this straight, you're comparing two separate riots, one where two police officers were killed, and another where five were killed? Is that right?
