Yes this. 'Thinking' would be a great start in keeping with the stream. Although rumpt 'loves the uneducated ' a little education can go a long way. You don't need to be a genius to utilize basic critical thinking skills. The know it alls are dangerous as they have already made up their minds and convince others with arguments that appeal to base instincts. Humans are gifted with reason but you need to exercise those muscles. Let's try to do that as well as being more kind to each other. It's not weakness to be merciful . Yeah I can lay off insults if people make sincere efforts but I have little patience for willful ignorance.

Someone, I believe a Republican actually, said it best when he said that voters are owed the truth.

They aren’t owed an endless parade of investigations of lies about an election that have already been swatted away 50+ times in court in a misguided effort simply to placate the bruised ego of a President and his supporters.

So, start there. Start with the truth. I see no way to reach a reconciliation without a set of agreed-upon facts on a question this important to democracy.

We should consider truth and reconciliation commissions of the kind that have been set up in post-Apartheid South Africa for example.

I’d support putting the MAGA rioters through these as opposed to locking them up, for example.

No1: Is under the age of 60, and therefore will not get cancer in the first 10 weeks of office

No2: Cares about more than just the economy and crime, because that is what America has been focusing on. Nobody wants to vote for someone who wants to help with social or environmental issues. Change that.

What really needs to be done is something about the media. All media platforms are biased, some more evidently than others. I have no solution, but its not free speech if everyone condemns it.
What we need to do is stop focusing on our leaders private lives, and start focusing on our own country. Stop fretting about the details and work together. Unfortunately this country is divided by the stupidest quarrels. If the dems and repubs find ONE thing in common, maybe this country wont crumble.

It's easy to blame everything on Trump.... When I see some memes posted in PoliticsTOO I know the "other party" has done a fair share too in hateful approach by now. In the end the two parties need each other, as well as the supporters of both parties. Only when the supporters of BOTH parties can see this, the US could be whole again.

Acting like somebody who actually wants it does is what takes the challenge. But "you" is plural... The refers to all the people in the world, and in the specific case what happened in the Capitol, to all the people in the U.S.

As long as the Trump supporters keep seeing the democrats and the press as their "enemy" this won't happen. But as long as the others people keep seeing the Trump supporters as "the enemy" it won't happen either.

The big rub is, how do we get both parties to be friendly to the other, and NOT TO ACCUSE EACH OTHER OF ANYTHING (regardless if the accusation true or not)? Blaming others is always the easy way to go. And that's where it gets difficult (you follow?)

Yes, Trump did do a lot wrong (and was incompetent), but his opposers are also to blame for returning "the affection". And since both parties are to blame, only both parties can set it right. AND I MEAN BOTH!
