His father had to bail him up several times with hundreds of millions of dollars. He was known as a joke in the New York financial scene, a grifter in Atlantic City, and Las Vegas wouldn't let him have a gambling license because he's so shady. VEGAS thought Trump was too shady. Says a lot.

Government paying his resort for the golf trips, complete with $3 water bottles. Foreign dignitaries staying at Trump properties, paying 5 to 8 times the going rate for the inaugural gala at his hotel, etc., etc., etc. He's profited WAY more from the presidency than what he's donated. Plus, he'll deduct it from his taxes on his way to another $72 million tax refund. And what about the $17.5 million cash withdrawal from the undisclosed Chinese bank account in 2018?
